As a wedding photographer based in Adelaide, I get to see, and experience so many winery weddings. It’s crazy how lucky we are to have such an abundance of epic winery options on our doorstep. When somebody asks me if I have a favourite, Coriole winery in McLaren Vale is always one of the first names out of my mouth for weddings.
The Rustic charm of Coriole lies in the old stone homestead and cellar door from the 1800s. Surrounded on one side by beautiful lawns, which are perfect for an outdoor wedding ceremony; they offer spectacular panoramic views overlooking the vineyards all the way to the sea. On the other side, you’ll find the intimate courtyard and cottage gardens…. the perfect area for an outdoor dance floor under festoon lights. A photographers dream!
I always have a fantastic experience shooting Coriole Weddings. Everyone I’ve encountered over the years has been warm, friendly and accommodating. Nothing is too hard and they always seem to go out of their way to help out and make you feel welcome. The food is amazing and so are their wines… with beautiful Reds, tasty whites and that PROSECCO!
Coriole’s restaurant is perfect for a sit down reception with its rustic stone walls and breathtaking views. Best of all though… it opens out onto a wonderfully spacious, yet intimate courtyard area, protected from the wind and surrounded by beautiful gardens. I love this courtyard after dark when it transforms into a magical dance floor under festoon lights. Soooo good!
Not many Adelaide wineries would have the option of a marquee wedding with panoramic views over rolling vineyards all the way to the sea… and I don’t know anywhere else you can have a tree inside your marquee! Ridiculous!
Coriole Weddings have a bit of everything for your photography, from wide landscapes, to rustic textures and colourful gardens. With the long dirt roads, the rolling vineyards and epic views… Coriole can be a wedding photography goldmine at the right time of day. The beautiful gardens are perfect for intimate portraits but it’s the sunsets at Coriole that always blow my mind! Pink skies, and that golden light as the sun drops into the distant sea, beyond the backlit vines. It gets me excited just talking about it. I love shooting at Coriole when the sun gets low in the sky.
